1. What is the Evans Gambit?

The Evans Gambit is a super-fun way to play the Italian Game.
You offer your b-pawn to Black early, just to get your bishops and pieces zooming out fast!

  1. Pawn to e4 – Grab the center, like always!
  2. Knight to f3 – Attack e5, and get ready to castle.
  3. Bishop to c4 – Point at f7—attack plans start already.
  4. Bishop to c5 – Black lines up their pieces, aiming at f2.
  5. Pawn to b4 – Evans Gambit! You “donate” your pawn for huge speed!
  6. Bxb4 – Black takes the present, but your pieces move even faster.
  7. c3 – Kick out their bishop, while getting d4 for more center control.

Summary for Kids
