Kids' Scotch Four Knights Plan
Develop all four knights:
Both sides put knights on f3, c3, f6, and c6. Knights are great early pieces, controlling the middle and helping your king.
Then break with d4:
Once your knights are ready, play d4 to challenge the center – this is your Scotch moment inside the Four Knights.
Get bishops out and castle:
After d4, bring your bishops to good diagonals and castle. Then your rooks can come to the center to fight on open files.
